My Values: E.N.L.I.G.H.T.S.
Enrich and Empower Others
I will always look for ways to include and empower those around me by identifying ways to engage community voice.
Now, Not Later. Live in the Present.
Issues are issues and there will always be challenges we will need to face as a community. The fast changing world requires us to live in the moment and be proactive rather than reactive. We need to prioritize what is most important to us. I will do whatever possible to act on what is feasible and logical in the moment rather than wasting time or prolonging what can be done for the betterment of all today. We must focus on what we can get done today in order to be prepared for tomorrow. Let’s not wait on the priorities we know we need to address now.
Every interaction and decision will be done with aloha and without spite or hate while standing in dignity.
Insight and Integrity
I will always look for innovative solutions and make decisions with the integrity, holding a high standard of accountability that is owed to the public.
I believe positive growth can be uncomfortable and is filled with struggle. Leadership is not easy and is sometimes painful. However, If we can be courageous in committing to the things that are most important in life and to our future, we will receive all we want and need in the way we want it. While growth can be uncomfortable, I will continue to seek opportunities for our island to thrive while challenging our progress.
Healing and Health
The health and wellness of our people at every age must come first. Our future is determined by how healthy our people are in mind, spirit and body. There is much to do in healing our community and the people who live here.
Trust and Truth
I will always listen to all points of view and concerns while remaining vigilant in our vision for the future. I will seek balanced approaches for solutions realizing that we all need to move forward together and not segregated. I will practice truth telling and build trust amongst all people in our governmental process and encourage seeing our most difficult conversations through until we reach resolution and a positive outcome.
My commitment to service drives my motivation and is the guiding light for me to stay on track. I am not interested in personal gain. I have dedicated my life to serving others and our home.
